What materials did you use? I used Shwe Shwe for the outer bag, but Curtain material will also work. I used Poly Cotton for the lining.

What are you most proud of? That I created a pattern that I like and that it looks like the bag I had in my mind, I am really happy about the way the Patchwork Luna turned out. See my website and blog for more details. Website: Blog:

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Learn the technique of the piecing of material and the Flip and Sew technique. You must also take care that all the blocks are the same width. Don't rush the sewing - take your time.

This is my own design and my patterns are unfortunatly not ready to sell on the Internet. I really want to do that, but I am so busy just to get things in a shop here to sell, I am glad that you like the bag. Sorry for my very late answer.

Hallo Christine. For the Luna (and Patchwork version) Cross Body Bag I dew my own pattern. A view years ago when I started sewing bags I find the pattern of a Hobo Bag in a book that I bought. Then I started playing with the idea to make a separate bottom for the bag, I didn't like the Hobo top of the bag with the seam in the middle - so I did some research on the Internet and created my own pattern. This pattern is thus not on the Internet, but a similar pattern is for sale at Pink Chalk Studio ( For the Patchwork version I used ShweShwe material that I cut into blocks and used the Flip and Sew technique to work the strips on a Foundation Material. The longer you sew the easier it become to draw your own patterns and I am thinking about making some of my patterns ready to sell. I hope you find the pattern (Pink Chalk studio call her pattern the Mail Sack) Enjoy your sewing and you are welcome to contact me on my e-mail address:
