Cotton fabrics, polyester threads, colored pencils, photos taken with my Iphone, Photoshop Elements, tracingpaper, batting.
What was your inspiration?
Elizabeth Hartman for her modern designs which is so easy to follow. I really like the funny way to play with the Wonky Log Cabin. For the sketching of my family I have been inspired by Maria Ekins. She explain every step carefully and make it so easy.
Of course my family is my inspiration: My husbands eyes always seeing my ups and downs and taking good care of the whole family. My sons mouth always laughing and make me so happy. My doughter loves when her moter sits in the sofa and tickle her hands and arms. And finally my own feet, which are my best friends. Without them I can't walk, run and exercise, which I love!
What are you most proud of?
That the whole part came out so well and fit so well into my hall. I've picked up the colors of the hall's interior and used them in the quilt. The style is a mixture of the bright and calm Scandinavian design and the plain Japanese design.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Don't plan so much in advance. Go with the flow and let the work evolve. It's exciting to se the result at the end!
