Instructions
I do not have my pattern laid out anywhere, I just took squares and arranged them in a circular type pattern until they reached the edge of the bed. then I made an alternate pattern for each corner of the quilt to give it a different look than a typical Around the World quilt.Difficulty:
Category: Quilting
Type of item: Home Decor
For: Home
Materials
various fabrics batting liner fabric
What was your inspiration?
I had some squares and just wanted to do something different with them. My husband's Great Aunt Grace and Great Aunt Polly helped by making and sewing on the scallops. My husband's Nana helped me quilt it in time for my parents' 40th wedding anniversary.
What are you most proud of?
What I love most about this quilt is that so many in Jamey's family took part in making it and it is the only quilt Nana was able to work on before she got too sick, so that is special that she was able to help me quilt it. We had a wonderful time sharing our days together before I went to work on 2nd shift.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Quilting is more fun if you have someone to quilt with. I suggest make it a joint effort if at all possible. The end result will have more meaning because you will have packed memories into the project.
