Made from a pattern in the book Tucsadelphia by Lizze B - published by Kansas City Star Quilts. This quilt was done using the medallion technique in Ann's class. Also inspired to do all kinds of free motion from Ann's Continuous Line Quilting class. There is so much free motion in various shapes and sizes on this quilt I had never done more in my life. By doing the centre first it allowed me to do lots of details of waves in the water and ripples in the sand. Then adding the outer border I did more freemotion following the design in the coral and shell shapes. Thank you Ann for giving me the inspiration and encouragement and allowing me to make mistakes, back track and try to be more free in my movements. I could not have made this without watching and re-watching the classes. It took me a year from the time I started - working in other projects along the way, but finally completed I think it turned out great. Not show quality but great for me :)
