Old book pages, glue, acrylic paint, florist wire and florist tape

What was your inspiration?

Outside my back door is a pot filled with happy zinnias... it seemed a good project to try to duplicate a similar look with paper.

What are you most proud of?

I'm pleased with how it turned out.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Be patient, it takes a whole lot longer than it seems like it should.

I can't tell what the petals are being glued to? is it a strip of white paper that they are glued to? I really want to make these, they are beautiful, thank you for sharing this!

I cut a thin piece from the edge of the book pages I was making the petals from, just maybe an eighth of an inch wide. Once they were glued to the page, and dried, I simply wound that paper "tape" around the wire, then covered with the florist tape. The painted side of the petals were wound toward the inside too... I chose not to paint the back of them, thought it would give an interesting contrast, but if you prefer, by all means paint both sides.
