wow! I'm just about to explore paper piecing but wasn't aware that I needed special tools... I know I need the special thin paper, pens, a 1/4" ruler, scissors and tiny cutting board and rotary cutter... what else would I need? It's probably a good idea to have a caddy, so I'll check out the pattern. Thanks for the insight! I like your piecing.

You are on the right track. I keep the "add a quarter" ruler or the add an eigth ruler, a small pair of scissors, a small rotary cutter, 4" square ruler, reverse action tweezers, a hera marker, and a pencil in the caddy. I recommend the paper piecing paper put out under Carol Doak (no affiliation). In most cases I also have a mini iron handy, but I also work on small blocks. Hope this helps!

Oh! Two things I did differently than the original pattern: my ties are fabric, the pattern uses ribbon and I added a thin layer of batting to mine.
