Paper Flower Technique

Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Paper Flower Tutorial »

Category: Paper Crafts

Type of item: Functional

For: Women

Style: Formal / Bridal, Classic, Romantic

Materials

paper punch, cardstock, pattern paper, brad

What was your inspiration?

I was inspired by the beautiful paper flowers on the market by companies such as PRIMA

What are you most proud of?

That I was able to produce a flower that was similar to those sold on the market but for a fraction of the price

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Play around with how loose or tight you crumple the paper and different flower punches and dies. This will give the flower a different look. Don't be afraid to add glitter, Glimmer mists, or inks.

I used scrapbook paper (the weight of copier paper) for this project, but found that even construction paper works too.

Hi Sue! Thanks for sharing! Like all the other I'd love to try it. Especially @sandraeeno 's idea of using book pages. I can imagine it would also be fun to paint some color onto news print and do it that way too. Thanks for the inspiration! I'm new to paper crafts. Can anyone give me some advice on finding the punches? Are there a few things you'd recommend I check when purchasing my own (in terms of quality). I have a Joanne's nearby but they always have several options of everything and I never know when it's worth it to buy the more expensive tools or when the cheaper brands will be just fine.

I love making these! I bought a bunch of old readers from the library sale ($1 a bag) and am using them. I have tried several different punches as well as other papers. They are just SO sweet!
