Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

For: Other

Style: Religious

Materials

cotton fabric, tulle, decorative threads, beads, ribbon, cotton twine, decor bond, wonderunder

What was your inspiration?

I've been working on several quilts for the Christian season of Lent. This quilt specifically represents Palm Sunday and Holy Week, moving into Good Friday.

What are you most proud of?

I'm most proud of some of the symbolism in the quilt: twelve branches on the palm frond, five sections for the five Sundays of Lent and a separate Good Friday section (all sections moving from lighter into darker), three beads for the three-time denial, irregular sides to the quilt representing the times our own journeys are uneven or we get side-tracked, etc.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Use the process of creation as part of your own spiritual journey, wherever that leads you....

My hubby was, for many years, the Palm Sunday Altar Go To Person, who came up with some very interesting displays on a wooden board for the season, with real palms and fronds. I never saw anything like this. This is amazing. The only thing I found more interesting was on a trip to Bermuda, they had palm fronds growing on the side of the road taller than I was. This is inspirational in many ways. Thanks for all your wonderful work in all your projects for us to view
