Absolutely love what you've done with colors and the quilt back. I'm making myself finish up some projects so I can enjoy undertaking something this ambitious and outside my comfort zone.

This is an awesome quilt! I also am drawn to the Palm Springs Pattern but had not invisioned it in the blacks and whites as you've done; it looks so modern and I am sure your friends daughter will be proud to display it in her home. Good job! I'm wondering if the white sashing piece was very tedious?

Thank you! I agree that this pattern is really engaging. The Bride requested neutrals with a splash of color. She's a basic black and gray girl, but is trying to do more with color. So, I used the Marcia Derse petites for the main orangey, gold accent. And my daughter said the same thing you did, "I would want it in my house!" I consider that the supreme compliment. The sashing is actually an dark ecru so I'm hoping that it will live a long life?? I also used it for the binding. fyi, it's very easy to sew to the sides of the Trapezoids. Just follow Weeks' instructions on the pattern. The tricky bit is getting each row to line up, but even that went surprisingly easily. This is a lovely project to make! I highly recommend it.

I loved making this quilt. It's a wedding present for a friend's daughter. Her Mom said to go with neutrals, and a splash of color! This is the first truly modern quilt that I've ever made. fyi, the back is Robert Kaurfman's Quilter's Linen, grey. It worked perfectly. I'll post a photo after it comes back from the Long Arm quilter!

I love the coloration in this quilt. I have the MOST trouble choosing fabrics because I don't understand color.

Beautiful quilt! The neutrals with a splash of red highlights the pattern beautifully. What a lovely wedding present.
