What are you most proud of? I don't have a detail shot of this, but I put a water ring on the mantle where she leaves her nightly martini glass :)

What advice would you give someone starting this project? start with a small project first (like a small toy box or end table) get familiar with the effects you can achieve before tackling a large architectural feature like a fireplace.

I love this! I have a fireplace that is just brick. Plain old boring brownish brick. Evan the tiny, nothing of a mantel is just a couple of rows of brick. I have always thought I would love to add some sort of reclaimed wood to it. Like adding more of a mantel, but not sure how to do it. If you ever get the chance to do something along that line, please offer a class on how. I would sign up for it in a heat beat. I love the look of reclaimed wood. Actually, reclaimed anything is great! Thanks for all your ideas.

Did you use the milk paint on this? What colors and what colors in the glaze? Beautiful. I have a bookcase that I would like to do in a similar fashion. I have just started reviewing your online class. I am really excited to get started. Stayed up half the night watching the classes.
