What materials did you use? Cotton fabric, pebeo paints, beads, Glide thread, 80/20 cotton batting

What are you most proud of? the hand dyed fabric was lots of fun and the thread painting was a new technique for me

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Just go for it! Have fun trying new things.

The inspiration for this quilt started with a block designed by Connie-Sue Haidle from Apple Blossom Quilts. The Fisgard LIghtouse in Victoria BC is a national historic site of Canada and the dogwood is BC's flower. The background fabric was hand-painted. The quilt was machine appliqued and then painted. The windows and flower centres are hand beaded and then I thread painted the flowers, leaves, and some of the rock that the lighthouse sits on.

Very nice, Malrene! Your painting really created shape in the lighthouse and ground. I like your wreath of flowers too.
