I have found dried gourds at Farmer's markets and Native American supply shops.Use a wet cloth to clean all dirt from gourds. Let completely dry before painting.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Be patient, if you want very detailed gourds like I have painted, this might be a few day project! It took me about 4 days to paint all 5 gourds. Come back to it if you get tired or frustrated so you won't lose interest or your patience! Have fun and use LOTS of color! These can be painted to match any decor!
