Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Painted Pictorial Quilts »

Instructions

I wanted to start with a photo and finish with a painted quilt all by myself. So I took a picture of the top of my rubber tree, made a pattern, dyed necessary colours, fused the project and painted it. I decided to use only red, blue and yellow, so my colours had to be mixed.

Difficulty:

Category: Other

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Classic, Eco-Friendly

Materials

fabric dyes and fabric paints (primary colours), white and blue cotton

What was your inspiration?

Annette Kennedy's course and her masterpieces

What are you most proud of?

I used supplies and materials available in my country, And I have learnt how to dye fabrics which is very useful, if you do not have a craft shop on every corner.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Just do it and have great fun.

Thank you for showing us your steps in photos!!! I'm really glad you included the paints and dyes you used as well. The Seta Color paints are hard to get in some places so it is great to see what else can be used.

Thank you, TrevorS. Now I am working on a painted fabric portrait. The most challenging are the skin tones.
