Instructions

This is in Gwen's Entree to Entrelac book.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Classic, Casual, Funky, Mod

Materials

Boku - 2 skeins Wool of the Andes - 5 1/2 skeins

What was your inspiration?

The entrelac course gave me the basic skills, and I felt ready to try a piece of clothing. I had this yarn in my stash, so I decided to see how it would all come together.

What are you most proud of?

I learned how to do the Join Base Triangles and the Live Top Triangles with the instructions in the pattern. The rest was really easy to follow.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

After you have done the first 2 projects, go ahead and try this one. You'll love finished result.

That's what I thought, too. The bottom looks a lot better than the top, so I considered that a design element. The top, with all of the kfb stitches, looked a lot messier. Maybe I should have done M1 instead. Any comments about Lake Monterey?

It didn't take very long, either. I am now starting on the Lake Monterey. I have a question. In the bottom and top triangle tiers I get a hole at the point. Is that normal, or is that a tip that you can share? I wound up just whipping the triangle tiers to the seed stitch rows to close up the holes.

It is the nature of the transition from "regular" knitting to triangles due to the movement to a biased fabric. Mine just has the holes. Since they are regular, I consider them a part of the design!
