I followed the techniques Marina Sousa taught in her online class - Advanced Fondant Techniques! I used styrofoam display forms for this one...I wanted to keep it to show my clients.
What was your inspiration?
I did Marina's "Jewelled Cake" course on here and loved it.....the videos are sooo easy to follow along...the end result all comes together and is amazing.....I wanted to practice what she taught...and was sooo pleased with the new techniques I learned....more things to bring my clients.
What are you most proud of?
Trying new techiques like painting on fondant....being more creative with disco dust...making my black and white stripped ribbon - inlaiding fondant and rolling/blending it together...Stripes are my new favourite cake accessory!!
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Take each tier one at a time....try new textures....and coordinate your colours to carry up into the next tier to complete the cake.
