Type of item: Functional

For: Infant/Baby

Materials

Fabric by Michael Miller Lush.

What was your inspiration?

I bought this pattern because I thought it was cute. Then a close friend of ours became pregnant with twins and she didn't want to find out before they were born if they were boys or girls. The momma loves owls so I decided it was perfect for her.

What are you most proud of?

I did my own machine quilting and it worked quite well. I took the Craftsy class by Wendy Butler Burns about machine quilting and followed her advice. I was pleased with how it all worked.
I'm also proud that I finished both of them before her baby shower.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have fun and enjoy watching it come together. The seam allowances are very important since the pieced blocks are alternating with the solid blocks.
