Instructions

Just have fun. The instructor is much more precise than I usually am about measurements for the back as a whole, but found the class inspirational. I had this top ready and was just going to slap a blue backing on it. I'm glad I watched this course; it inspired me to use the more vibrant colors from the top and continue the pinwheels on the back. Oh - and this quilt hasn't gone through the wash ...

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Children

Style: Casual, Cute

Materials

Cotton (what else is there?)

What was your inspiration?

Inspiration for the top: I saw a graphic online that I loved and I set it against a very light background so it would really show up.

Inspiration for the back: The class... and I was tired of boring backs. When the quilt is going to be laying on a bed all the time, it doesn't matter as much; but baby quilts are rarely stationary.

What are you most proud of?

This only took about 30 extra minutes.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Who am I to give advice? Just have fun with your projects!

Adorable. I especially like the color reversal of the pinwheels on the back.

Of course. It was very easy. I just made a template with poster board and then machine appliqud the owl and tree. The branch was a bit of a pain. I plan on making more of them to sell and I think reverse appliqu might make the branch easier to handle.
