What was your inspiration?

I love an oversized cowl! Thick, chunky and versatile! I don't like to wear hoods, but sometimes you need one! This is perfect for those days. Won't destroy your hair! You can fold this over up to three times or wear it loose!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I would rate this as an advanced beginner knitter pattern. You need to know how to knit back and forth and pick up stitches. The photo has a crocheted edge. Instructions for that are not in the pattern. If you know how to crochet, you can easily do that kind of edge.
