What was your inspiration?

this quilt was made for my dad, just because it reminded me of him and the stories my grandma used to tell me about him when he was little.

What are you most proud of?

I have done hand embroidery for many years, this was the first project that combined the hand embroidery with machine quilting.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

I used kimono silk thread for the machine quilting, in the same colour as the backgroung. I wanted to add more texture and let the embroidery stand out the most. It was a great choice, because it did exactly what I wanted. I tried to just mimic drifting snow and swirling winds.
