Cotton patchwork fabric, wading

What was your inspiration?

Just wanted to make some patchwork samples - but then decided that I may as well turn them into something.

What are you most proud of?

They look good, bring a smile to my friends faces.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have a play, Do some You Tube tutorials for the binding.

I didn't use a pattern. Just make your fancy top piece and put a back on it. For the two handed mitts. I measured the length I wanted and made two front pieces. cut the long pieces (you will need front and back, batting and a layer of flannel). I quilted the long pieces together with just straight stitching in squares. I then put them all together, trimmed them and sewed them together. Then binded them like a quilt. I also made a small length of fabric for the hanging tab and sewed that on before binding it.

Love this idea. Beautiful yet practical. Great gift idea for my kids who cook.
