We had 9 tables to decorate for my daughter's outdoor wedding. This was a collaboration between mother and daughter. She found these jewelry boxes ($7) on clearance, She bought fresh green & red apples at the supermarket. Yards of burlap material were purchased for $50 and I serged those into 18 table runners, The triangles I cut off were serged into banners and stenciled with a fabric marker with the initial of the couple's last name. These were placed throughout the area and around their table. I bought 4 flats of potted plants, yellow snapdragons and dusty millers ($40) and preserve jars.1/2 pint and 1 pint size ($40) and used whatever ribbons I had (I have tons of ribbons) to tie around the neck of the jars. Voila!
What was your inspiration?
A wedding on a very limited budget. That old saying is SO TRUE: Necessity is the mother of invention.
What are you most proud of?
It came together nicely.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Listen to the other person's ideas and keep an open mind. These are regular items that are inexpensive but when given a new setting, looked great and it was different. You can have still have somethng very nice that won't break the bank.
