What was your inspiration?
This chiffon cake recipe is from Baked Explorations, slightly modified. I felt that such a fluffy cake needed a fluffy frosting, so I went with a whipped chocolate buttercream. I was trying to figure out how to ice the cake and then I remembered the techniques I'd learned in Modern Buttercream and voila!
