What was your inspiration?
The beautiful blooming hibiscus in my front yard was full of orange flowers. The weather was gorgrous. The butterfly landed, and I too the photo you see above.
What are you most proud of?
The integration of the photo with the pieced flower.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
This project requires basic piecing skills. If that's not appealing, you can fuse the pieces that make the flower to fabric. Stitch them down. Trace the full size quilting guide onto tracing paper. Pin on the piece. Stitch over the lines to quilt. Done!
