Share a little about the materials, processes and techniques used to create this cake: Buttercream frosting Sugar Flowers
What are you most proud of? For all of my panic of presenting my first publicly shown sugar paste cake, it didn't turn out badly at all, was well received and I can only thank Ms. Butler's teaching, skills and time that went into the Craftsy Course, as well as Craftsy.com.
What advice would you give someone starting this project? Experiment with the different types of product that go into gum paste. I didn't have time to buy the tylose powder as recommended in the course work as I had to order it and have it shipped. I used Wilton Brand Gum Paste powder, following a recipe online from a recommended source. I was thankful I mixed a batch 3 days before the event to set up over night, because it did NOT turn out well at all. I had to mix another batch, let it set up and then begin crafting the sugar flowers the day before the event. Thankfully that one turned out well.
