What was your inspiration?
I was going to enter this in the Spoonflower Beach Bag contest here on Craftsy but as I received the fabric several days after the contest closed I was unable. I decided to proceed with the bag anyway because I had the perfect pair of jeans to go with the gorgeous fabric designed by Whimzwhirled.
What are you most proud of?
It turned out even better than I imagined.I love how the jeans and the fabric work so well together with colours that are both complimentary and matching as well as in the theme of flowers and skulls/snakes.
Making the fly pocket was something I did back when I first started making jeans bags. They are fun and a little unexpected; I figure why waste a zipper...
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
After taking Vanessa Christenson's Craftsy class on Sewing Texture I couldn't wait to dress up a jeans bag with one of her twisted flowers. It was a bit challenging because I still wanted full use of the pocket it was going beside. Next time I would make it a bit smaller and up a bit higher; closer to the fly.
