Materials

A quilt my mom made for me that was falling apart and new cotton fabrics.

What was your inspiration?

My mom gave me a quilt when I left for college. It was loved to pieces, but the Sunbonnet Sues were still in good shape, so I decided to give it new life!

Listen to me talk about this project here: http://sewhooked.com/2009/09/01/vlog-ttmt-operation-save-sue/

What are you most proud of?

Saving an heirloom...

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Patience (lots of!) I removed each sue from the background fabric and machine embroidered them to a new background fabric before adding blue borders to each block. It took a while!

Well this seems to be in your blood. I just commented on the nine patch and see you have saved more than one quilt.
