Knitting: one-skein shrug

one-skein shrug

Learn It

This project was made as part of a Craftsy workshop:
One Skein Knit Shrug »

Instructions

I preferred to do a provisional cast-on. Also, on the increase rows, I saved the left front increase for the first stitch on the purl/WS (pfb) of the work because i found the edging to be "cleaner" to pick up the stitches for the Neckline Trim .

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Clothing

For: Women

Style: Casual, Romantic, Cute

Materials

Cascade 220

What was your inspiration?

The name of this shrug was the inspiration...that and that this is a Stephanie Japel design/workshop.

What are you most proud of?

I've made eight(!) of these shrugs and everyone I've given them to LOVES it! :)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Sometimes it is best to take the shoulder-to-shoulder measurement in addition to the measurement across the back, in-between the armpits. I had to knit an extra shrug because a friend of mine's shoulders were more narrow than her across the back measurement so the shrug was too tight.
