What was your inspiration?
My inspiration was two-fold: techniques learned from Alisdair Post-Quinn in the double-knitting class; and a design contest with the theme of geometry on ravelry.
I've called these "On Point Mittens" because I was playing around with point symmetry for the creation of the large diamond pattern.
What are you most proud of?
I'm most proud of having figured out on my own how to close off the top of the mittens and thumb. It's logical and easy enough, but I was pleased because you have to be in "double-knitting" thinking mode to figure it out.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Do a double-knit swatch to determine pair numbers. And always think of and count the stitches as pairs.
