What advice would you give someone starting this project? I had a lot of trouble getting the panels to ruffle and then even more trouble working with the wooly nylon, it frayed and tore and got stuck in the thread of my machine often. All I can say is patience and ask questions if its not working. Next time I will use something else.

I'm sorry to hear the wooly nylon gave you trouble! Do you know where it was catching? Is there a burr on your stitch plate or upper looper finger? Regardless, I think that your apron is super cute. The purple colors are really lovely!

I am really not sure why it was so difficult. Maybe it was because I used off-brand wooly nylon i found at JoAnns (I couldn't find the real thing). It just kept getting caught in the tension disks and pulling to tight or getting caught and fraying on the clip in the back. I couldn't keep it consistent. Oh well, I am still loving my new found confidence in using my serger.
