Category: Sewing

Type of item: Costume

For: Women

Style: Traditional, Whimsical, Victorian / Steampunk, Romantic, Classic

Materials

A bronze and green jacquard for the center front and back panels, A plain green suiting for the sides and a sheer yellow curtain material for the underskirt.

What was your inspiration?

I designed this for myself to wear to the Ren Faire. It has a built in corset and laces up the back. I wanted something comfortable and elegant. I loved the fabric as soon as I saw it. I had an idea for the scallop at the bottom and wanted to make something to incorporate it. There are drawstrings on each side to adjust the fit.

What are you most proud of?

The design. I thought about it for so long and finally made it for a masquerade ball I was going to. I also really like the how the mask turned out. I worked liked a maniac to finish it in a week because I had procrastinated until the last minute. I won 1st place for best dressed!
