What was your inspiration?

The old school, retro ski beanies. I LOVE them!

What are you most proud of?

I'm most proud of the color design. I worked out a way (with the help of another crochet friend of mine!) to make stripes clean, and crisp. Most of the time, crochet color work is either slanted or messy looking. I use a different method of color work to push the boundaries!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

This pattern involves an ADVANCED technique for the color work. It's not what you usually see in crochet and can be tricky. This would probably not be the best choice for your first ever crocheted hat. I'll help you in any way I can, but mostly it's a matter of re-training your eye and playing with my technique.
