What was your inspiration?

Jessica's color scheme was amazing on this cake. I had a chocolate cake to do this weekend, so I just applied the content of her theme to the chocolate cake.

What are you most proud of?

The flower is pretty good for my first time with modeling chocolate. It was pretty forgiving to work with. Next time I would do this onto fondant so I could really try to get the chevrons more "offset." I just wanted to try it right away. :)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take your time getting the chevron pattern onto the waxed paper because it really does apply pretty well to the cake, even on buttercream. And measure your circumference. Even using the same size cake as the patterns were sized for, I still had a small gap at the end. No biggie. :) Happy cake accidents happen, and there's almost always a fix!
