Instructions

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Functional

For: Home

Style: Classic, Traditional, Retro / Vintage

Materials

100% Cotton Fabric & Thread

What was your inspiration?

Loved the 2012 BOM and desire to quilt, are my inspiration .

What are you most proud of?

I am most proud of the decision to make a quilt in black & white with a touch of color. Thought it might be only red but now I think there may be some other accents. Haven't bought all my fabric yet.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Pick the colors that "speak" to you and enjoy what you are creating. Some blocks are predictable & others will be happy accidents. Lol

It looks beautiful, I love toile. I hope you use other colors besides red because that's original and I'd love to see how that works out.

Love the BWR look. I used a combo of Leah's fills from FMQ Sampler course & other FMQ book I got to finish 2 quilts from last year's BOM for my boys' Xmas gifts. They turned out great, if I do say so myself ;-) Gonna post pics soon. Looking forward to another great Craftsy year =)

I really do too! Fun picking out the fabrics since its not a line! Still finishing stitching in the ditch around the Sampler blocks. Takes a while. I also made 4 lap quilts for my family. My two girls quilts were done in a Fence Rail block but I made a Creative Back for them & posted them there. This year should be awesome.

These block are really stunning! I've been toying with the idea of black and white with another colour to accent it, but I really want to use up some of my stash again and there just ain't no black and white in it - pretty well every other colour is in there though!

No kidding! That's great. Saw awesome example from last year. I'm also doing Amy's Sugar Bowl Club in a Christmas theme. Haven't started the Civil War blocks yet but maybe start on Feb. fatter motion quilting my Sampler following Leah, so that's taking quite a bit of time. Very tedious & precise. Had to wait for my "Supreme Slider" to arrive! Lol
