What was your inspiration?
The mom-to-be is a very modern woman who didn't want anything "babyish" for her nursery. This fabric collection came from Connecting Threads and was a perfect match for her colors, and I thought the Japanese theme (kanji characters, plumb blossoms, etc.) added an interesting touch.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Whatever fabrics you choose, try to imitate the light and dark variation as this is what really makes this quilt pop.
