Ode to the Geen Fairy

Is this your project? Can you share instructions or a pattern with the Craftsy community?

Difficulty:

Category: Jewelry

Type of item: Accessory

For: Unisex

Style: Casual, Funky, Cute, Outdoorsy, Classic, Whimsical

Materials

Polymer Clay Acrylic Paint Mica Powder Metal C-Ring

What was your inspiration?

A cigarette snuffer that I found at a retail shop for a quarter. When I saw it I knew I had to make a mold out of it.

What are you most proud of?

I use very few molds in my work, even when I do they are mold I usually make myself or are made with found items. I'm proud of the way this one came together, the background, leaves & acorn dangle I made really added to this peice.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Look around you for found objects that can be used to mold polymer clay into, or onto. Leaves, rocks, tree bark, even the texture of concrete can be very interesting when impressed into ploymer clay.

Thank you, this one was very hard to photograph, they all looked glossy & the peice isn't glossy but I guess I finally got the right light.
