Instructions

I made templates for the pieces and just used the paper foundations as a guide between each piece I added. I really don't like to sew onto paper, so I do something else that works for me. Well Cat, I would have to say that your way works for you. A very well done block. Yes, you did chose wisely in the fabrics & colors. I really like it. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you Pam! I just found out after researching on the Internet (peeking in Amazon books that let you take a look inside) that there are some professionals out there who do something like this too. So I am in good company. I was browsing through Jane Hall's book "Expert's Guide to Foundation Piecing" which contains a compilation of several different quilter's methods. In case you were interested. It looks like a really handy book to have.

Sometimes I giggle inside when I think back to all the times in grade school when I got a U (for unsatisfactory) in the category "follows directions". I think I have always been someone who wants to find my own means to an end!

WOW, Cat, I can really relate to the U, like they say ... "We ALL march to a different drummer". :-)
