I have the Christmas blocks laid out on the living room floor. I have chosen a gold tone on tone for the sashing. Trying to figure out how wide I want to make the sashing and if I want a border in addition to the sashing.. I have 2 ideas. 2.5" sashing before attaching and no border. OR 1.5" sashing before attaching and a 2..5" border of green with gold.

Wow mpac I haven't had time to consider what to put as either sashing or borders - the gold tone on tone sounds nice with the Christmas fabrics - I think I am going to wait and see what Amy does and then make my decision as to how big the border and/or sashing will be. Look forward to seeing what you decide to do.

WasNewbieJean, I love your new name. The class has done wonders for me too. I am looking forward to completing both quilts.

Thanks, desna. I was just thinking about where I was a year ago today. I was in Ireland. I loved the trip and Ireland was more beautiful than I could have imagined.

Ireland is a beautiful place... if only we had the weather to match it, but then it might not be as green;) Still I would love a little more sunshine.

mpac, I think that your blocks are beautiful ( as usual ). They are so very different, you get a completely different feel from both. Thank you for the info on size. I haven't started this months yet, a house full of wonderful company. It will be really great, when we can see each others finished quilts. Thank you so much for sharing.
