Materials

Cotton fabric, cotton batting, polyester thread

What was your inspiration?

This piece called fun with stripes that I had found through pinterest. Our crystal has a stem that reminds us of Resident Evil and thought it would be fun to have placemats the kind of mimic that as well. It was mostly for me to practice my FMQ before moving on to finish my son's quilt.

What are you most proud of?

The last placemat turned out so much better than any of the others, my thread did not break at all during quilting! So excited about that!

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Dive into a project. Leah Day suggests to practice FMQ on actual projects than just pieces of fabric. You are more likely to be more conscious of what you are doing that way. :)

Ha! Yes! Unfortunately, babies are not nice to placemats when eating! But they have saved me from too many wipe downs on the table! Plus, they survive the wash! Added bonus! Yay!
