What was your inspiration?

The octagon block in the 2012 BOM class was quick & fun, so I thought it would make a cute baby quilt.

Okay, I need some help. I'm trying to figure out how to quilt the top. I'm not skilled enough with my free motion foot to confidently do it on a whole top (especially when it's a gift). I want to use my walking foot, but am having trouble deciding what type of pattern I want to try Any thoughts?

I would stitch in the ditch for the most part, and try some free motion in the center squares.
