Materials

Scrapbooking paper of seven different shades, a paper cutter, craft tape, stick glue, scrapbooking scissors, and half a sheet of card stock.

What was your inspiration?

A trip to Ocean Isle inspired this design. In our modern world of texting, email, and Facebook, my grandmothers still love sending handwritten notes to their friends. Every year I craft a dozen or so cards for them as a Christmas gift, and this is one that I designed for them.

What are you most proud of?

I love the way it turned out. The colors go great together, and I think it really captures the serenity and color of an ocean view.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Have a few hours set aside before you begin, and have a nice, spacious work area. I also love working while listening to music. It creates a nice, peaceful setting.

Very pretty and inviting scene. Your choice of colors and theme convey your message perfectly. i know your grandmothers were pleased with your thoughtfulness. It's a gift to the recipient because the card would make a nice framed picture.
