Pattern Info

Pattern info for this project can be found here:
Super-Simple Garter Stitch Fingerless Mitts »

Instructions

I just used a bigger needle and a bulky yarn, and cast on a couple more stitches.

Difficulty:

Category: Knitting

Type of item: Accessory

For: Women

Style: Casual, Funky, Outdoorsy, Classic, Mod

Materials

Cascade Yarns Eco + and size 10 needles

What was your inspiration?

A couple things:

1. awesome yarn I bought on vacation in Maine in 2011 (!!!) because it reminded me of the ocean. I had it stashed for "that special project" that I (surprise) never got around to. So I needed to use it for something.

2. I saw an easy-peasy pattern for knit-flat fingerless gloves. I love fingerless gloves. Love. Them. So I thought I'd make myself some "Ocean Mitts" and remember that lovely Maine vacation (even though I take one there every year, each one is special).

What are you most proud of?

That I used STASH yarn!!! Yarn stashed since 2011!! Yay, me!! :D

Now to make some for giving away (this was a HUGE hank of yarn, people...huge).

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

These are sooooooooooo easy!!!!

These are easy and I like wearing them over the more beautiful cables, bobbles ones that a more decorative. THe smoothness of these lends them to tucking easily below coat arms, etc. So nice!

Thank you! I have a thing about my wrists getting cold. Weird, right?? So I have a "system": roll my shirt sleeves up, put these mitts on, put my shirt sleeves down to secure them in place, and then slip my outdoor coat on. No cold wrists, and everything lies flat! (Told you I was odd.) LOL
