The most important for this project is to measure very accurately so all the flying geese are positioned correctly in the block.Prewashing the fabrics made the fabrics easier to work with.

100% cotton and cotton blends and 80/20 batting. The fabrics were gold and black prints.
What was your inspiration?
I was originally inspired by a coworker's request to make a quilt for his wife. I searched for different patterns until I found a similar quilt pattern in Quick Quilts Magazine. It was an easy pattern and it went together rather quickly.
What are you most proud of?
I am most pleased with how the colors went together so well. The pinwheel block mesmerized me when I got the first one complete!
The Football block was a surprise: it was supposed to be a square-in-a-square, but when I was pressing the first 2 corners, I noticed the football shape and kept the idea.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Choose your fabrics carefully: get more than what your pattern calls for, prewash them, and cut accurately.
