I love snow globes - but wanted a different one. I was inspired of seeing fun paper piecing patterns and made my own snow man family. Find a winter motive paper piecing pattern of your own liking, or draw your own. Prolong the background to make room for the whole globe. Sew the inside of the globe with a motive you like. Sew a strip at the bottom to make the base of the snow globe. Draw the form of the globe you want and make it a paper pattern. Use the pattern to draw the seam line. Cut the inside, don't forget seam allowance. Then cut the same form out of a background fabric, don't forget seam allowance. Sew the two pieces together. Sew a new strip at the bottom to have the snow globe stand an a table. Make a quilt sandwich and free motion quilt the snowflakes falling in the snow globe. Then free motion quilt the background.
