Charm squares and jelly roll strips for the front, minkee for backing
What was your inspiration?
I received this charm pack as part of the Benartex Fat Quarterly Club. I had some jelly roll strips that coordinated, and I thought they would make an interesting baby quilt for my friend Nicole, who is not into traditional pastel pinks and pastels.
What are you most proud of?
I was able to finish despite two sewing machines breaking down! I actually had to rent a machine to finish. And despite measuring the quilt and my binding each three times, somehow I was two feet short when I sewed it on. Luckily I had scraps left and was able to piece some more together. I wasn't happy with the quilting, and am rethinking my decision to do my own, but all in all I was very pleased with the design and the fact it all came together.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
Measure FOUR times - and make sure your sewing machine is in great working order! :-)
