Materials

Kraemer's Tatamy Tweed Worsted - to my estimation this is a lighter worsted then many of the others I have knitted with. Its a cotton/acrylic blend and works up really nice!!

What was your inspiration?

I wanted to make my son a sweater but since what he wanted was not readily available as a pattern I developed this by taking bits of pieces a few that he did like and working out the math... BY HAND. Now that I have been working through Faina's class that should not be such an arduous task anymore.

Yes, I know, it says it was made as part of the class, but there is not really any other way to share it with you all and I did use some of the information from the class to write the instructions in the book I keep track of my projects so if I have to ever reproduce them... or maybe some day publish a pattern or two.

What are you most proud of?

That I was able to make him exactly what he wanted. BTW... the placket still needs its buttons. I have not made/found the right ones yet.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

Take the class first so you have some guidance in how to do the measurements and then calculations you need to do to get everything to fit together properly.

Also, I would advice learning a bit about plackets and how they attach to the garment. In all honesty, doing that placket sucked!

This is my handsome son. The sweater fits him wonderfully well, thank goodness. He does not look happy in the picture cause, 1 he does not like taking pictures, and 2, he has an abscessed tooth.

Beautiful seaming and nice even stitches. I hope you post pics with him wearing after he gets it!

Thank you! This particular yarn is really nice to work with. And thank you for the comment about my seaming... I really do not like doing that part at all. I hope he will let me take pics.

Thank you! I am hoping that once I give it to him he will let me take a couple pictures of him in it.
