This project was made as part of a Craftsy course:
Quick-Strip Paper Piecing »

Difficulty:

Category: Quilting

Type of item: Home Decor

For: Home

Style: Romantic, Cute

Materials

Lace, cotton fabric and cut up curtain scraps

What was your inspiration?

Just adding to my "Box of Chocolates" blocks. Experimenting with fabrics and ribbon on my first New York Beauty. It's a really big block! I'll square it up after I decide how to use it.

What are you most proud of?

Glue basting! Love it! I also like the way I was able to use a lot of my scrap triangles from my last two blocks. I try not to have a lot of waste. Mostly because I'm cheap. :)

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

At least try the glue basting and freezer paper. I've been sewing since I was a child and this was new to me. I'm out of practice with sewing curves but I'm fairly profecient. This method is so much easier! I just love it.

Thank you! I like them a lot, though admittedly, I have no idea where I'm going to use these colors in my house. LOL, Maybe when I get my crafting room done I'll turn them into sweet accent pillows.
