What materials did you use? I purchased an old chandelier, spray paint, and plastic "diamonds"

What are you most proud of? We found this one and she loved it, so we purchased it for $8.00. We didn't know there were crystals that went with it at first, but found out later that the $8.00 included a box of 60 crystals. 30 long acrylic crystals, and 30 etched glass panes. Then we purchased a $4.00 can of spray paint and away we went. When the light was hung and she had spent the night in her room. She said the next morning it was like waking up in a castle.

What advice would you give someone starting this project? Look for the perfect light, then make certain you have all the pieces available, and use your imagination. Any color on an old light will make it look terrific. I would love to do one in Black and also a Red one too. Make sure you prime any smooth metal, and use light coats of paint. I think it works best to hang the light from something so you can get all the way around it. The spray paint leaves a coat of paint dust, so don't leave your car in the garage or it will be covered in paint dust. Also clear the area of anything you don't want to paint.
