What was your inspiration?

Every time I went to the grocery store with my freebie reusible shopping bags they looked shabby. When it was time to load the groceries, their flimsy fabric would not allow the bags to stand open frustrating me or the bagger.

What are you most proud of?

I designed these bags to be pretty and practical. They are sturdy and stylish! The construction is super quick and easy, but the finished bags nest to carry all together. I like to leave them nested and fill them from the smallest one on up. They stand up nicely and if I don't use all four bags, the extra is nested and ready to carry out.

What advice would you give someone starting this project?

The assembly of the bags is simple but has a great shape when finished. I used quilt weight cotton, but you could use heavier canvas or even tapestry fabrics for a variety of looks. A cute trim around the top edge, or even add a simple pocket, make the look your own!
