Marimekko fabric and batiks
What was your inspiration?
The Marimekko fabric in the background served as the inspiration. Batik circles were fused on amid a few pieced flying geese. The overall feel is celestial with a lot of movement.
What are you most proud of?
I think the quilting enhances the simple shapes and strong colors.
What advice would you give someone starting this project?
I used a varigated thread and repeated the triangles from the piecing in the quilting design as Angela suggested in the lesson. Because I use a home sewing machine, I attached freezer paper triangles in various sizes, scattered across the color field. I quilted around them without marking on the quilit top.
