Do you use a needle or a shuttle? Is this very difficult to learn because it looks it. I cannot find anyone who knows how to do this and teach me.

It is actually very easy. I needle tat even I can ddo both. Needle tatting is just easier on my hands. I belong to another group called Intatters. They range from expert tatters to beginners. Handy Hands has a great book to teach yourself to needle tat. You can find it at their website or Hobby Lobby stores.
